No. He and I have an understanding that's been in effect for twenty years now. The only reason we've remained friends this long is because each of us feels free to
tell the other one to go to hell...and does it regularly.
That's why I defended him ...as president of the AUA. I know first hand just how unfounded those charges are...still, just for his own sake, neither of us would have
bothered. You, like many others, live in dread of any effective, powerful Assyrians coming to work for our Heritage. You all have different reasons for what you do,
but all of you are afraid of this one thing, above several others.
Narsai has the rights to all the sculptures I ever made
since we've known each other. By now he has quite a collection. Some of it is
at
University...others will be donated here and there. I've finally agreed to allow him to be my agent as well. You need people who aren't afraid to tell you you're
wrong, and shout at you and yell at you...then hug you and you know it's because they care for you beyond just being pals for the pleasure of it.
He's a good man...a tough one, a very tough one. But the man delivers...that's why they've all taken off after him. When he gets through...the meaning of "leader" and
'activist" will have a new meaning in our community. The Lewies, and Odishoos and Nimrods will have a new standard to be measured by...as will "artists", in our
community.
It is this more than anything that has scared you, Hanna Hajjar, Ghassan and a host of others. It's understandable....you will all lose, you have already, you just don't
know when or how to quit. The day will come when you'll wake up and realize that the door shut in your faces long ago...you just never knew the difference.
