...that "we" have been imposing our values and morals on them for a long time. By "we" I suppose they mean non-Christians, although that isn't strictly true...there are many millions of Christians who understand the rule of law and the separation of church from state.

But it's funny to hear them complain...you have to remember that for 1000 years Christians had their way and they terrorized us all, including other Christians. We couldn't write what we wanted, we couldn't read what we wanted, we couldn't think what we wanted....our lives and homes could be invaded at any time by religious police and fanatics, popes and bishops stood ready to burn our books, burn our writers, burn our women...to torture us, to imprison us for life, hanging from cages....they had the power of life and death over us all for centuries.

It's only been in the last 300 years or so that we have begun to get them off our backs...to take away their self-granted license to maim, torture and kill, all in the name of THEIR lord, or their version of him....I'm surprised we let them survive at all...but we did, we just asked them to stop meddling in our bedrooms and schools and civic life...they were free to believe and do as they wished, to each other, so long as they obeyed the laws of the land...and we thought that was generous enough.

But no. They miss the good old days when they could terrorize the rest of us, tell us what to do and think and how we could love and with whom and in what position and especially what women could do with their bodies...

...they're back feeling "persecuted" because they can no longer persecute US!

...Voltaire was right when he said, "We have merely scotched the viper, not killed it."
