...while Magpie says she is refornmed and will only delete messages that "insult"...she has deleted many of mine which pointed out inconsistencies in whatever she is trying to say...hence I'll answer her here.

Mancho,
There's no use talking to someone who has never done a day of historical research, nor has ever studied under the direction of an actual historian, in a structured academic environment, using a scientific method to advance their research.

...I have done all those things...I just don't find the need to impress people with a resume...I let the ideas, not the experts, speak for me...neither has Magpie EVER brought her "expert historians" into any discussion of THIS topic, that I've seen. And I don't klnow what sociologists have to do with the topic...except to underdtand the sociology of our mass hysteria.

The masters program I am doing at the universtiy is "interdisciplinary," meaning, I am combining Social Science with History, under the guidance and direction of two seperate advisors: One is a respected Sociologist, the other a recognized historian, whose specialty is the Ancient Near East. My History advisor literally laughed when I told him there's an Assyrian who thinks the modern Assyrians are not the descendants of the ancient Assyrians.

...the "ancient near east" is NOT the topic here...this is the game that these people play...they stand in front of an obvious Assyrian relic and say that since THAT relic is Assyrian and they are standing in FRONT of it...they ARE ancient Assyrians themselves..the argument is about MODERN assyrian claims...and not Parpola nor any professor Magpie found in Modetso is an expert in MODERN Middle Eastern identity...particularly in regard to Nestorian claims of being ancient Assyrians. WE all accept that there were Assyrians once...that is not the argument....it's how the Suraye, Syrians, came to regard THEMSELVES as descendants of the ancients..and that was through the inlufnece and tomfoolery of the Europeans...just as we all know they invented modern Chaldeans.

WHY is it that NO Historian has EVER made such idiotic remarks or set-out to prove such a thing?

...many have. No one besides Dr Joseph has been one of us....and Dr Joseph is a professor of MODERN Middle Eastern history...not ancient history.

There are thousands of historians who specialize in ancient Near East, but not one of them has ever made this stupid assertion.

..because this is NOT an issue of "ancient" history..it is all about the MODERN era...relating to modern Chaldeans, it started in the 17th cenbtury..where modern Assyrians are concerned their invention came about in the 19th century....these are NOT dates and eras any ancient historian deals in.

Do you ever wonder why? Because they would be laughed out of the academic arena, that's why! Only someone who has never been a student of History, nor a Historian, can make such outrageous and unscientific claims!

...they would not be laughed out...in fact, the one among us who based his studies and books on this very subject is a professor emeritus and has had a new International Studies building NAMED FOR HIM....this is not something people do without knowing whom they honor and why.

Once again...Dr Jospeh's writings are all about the MODERN era...he is not an expert and has never claimed to be, on ancient Assyrian history...let Magpie find ONE modern historian whose specialty is modern assyrian and chaldean identity and let us hear from him or her...stop citing ancient historians...the topic has nothing to do with them.
