Israel has no inherent "right to exist"...neither does America or Italy or any other country. Countries are made legitimate by force....by power...by taking land and keeping it. That said, if Israel can keep its land, or even take and keep more land, power to it...because that's the way things work under international law.

But if Isarel has a right or obligation to fight to exist, then so do the Palestinians. The entire issue around the creation of Israel leaves out the grave injustice done to the Palestinian people. If Israelis can cite the "terrible things we suffered" as a rationale for seizing a country, then the Palestinians are equally justified in trying to get at least a part pf their's back...if they can do it.

Unimaginable horrors were done to European Jews to FORCE them into leaving Europe...eitherthrough murder or self-exile...but these crimes were committed by Christians, not by Muslims, not by Palestinians.

It's useless to discuss the existence of Israel without first accepting that the Palestinians did NOTHING to deserve what has been visited on them and that they have every right to be outraged and to remain that way...AND to fight in any way they can, against inconcievable odds.

If people don;t at least admit that the Palestinians have been horribly abused, then there's no possibility of real dialogue.

No European Jew wanted to move to Haifa in the 1890s...or 1940s. They left their homes because they were FORCED to...and there was nowhere else for them to go or that would accept them. It is a Christian crime...not an Islamic one.
