I'd like to think Maggie made a joke, but I sort of doubt it. Ever notice how really stupid people have no actual sense of humor? On her message board she posts a photo of a bas-relief showing an Assyrian warrior swimming with an inflated animal skin into which he periodically blows more air, to keep afloat.

She looks at this relief, and using all her accumulated "knowledge" tells us this is the first BAGPIPE in history! That soldier isn't swimming to the attack, he's playing MUSIC, while attacking. The scroll-like design behind him is obviously meant to represent water and waves....who would play a bagpipe, of all things, while SWIMMING?

Then, to better her, another fellow writes that this is the first SCUBA GEAR in history. Well, one thing is certain, these two are not the first IDIOTS in history...and won't be the last. No bag, filled with air you just blew into it, is going to give you anything but your own stink back...neither will a garden hose provide you with usable air...it will just blow your cheeks out because of the pressure.

What an inflated animal skin, if it's sewed up right, will do is make a sort of mini-raft, or life-vest, which will float you along for a bit....enough time to cross a river, if it's fairly calm.

So much for useful information, not to mention "historical analysis", at THAT place,
