A truly horrible film, though as usual Streep is brilliant. But who wrote that nonsense?

One thing I came away with is an apreciation for just what Conservatives in America and England have really been talking about all these years....of course they had to SAY that they were saving their countries...that they wanted their countries to be GREAT again...that they were for personal initiative and responsibility and those old-fashioned values that existed somewhere "back when..."

But what they were really all saying was that since social programs are paid for by taxes, as are roads and weapons and ports etc., and since they, the well-to-do, making most of the money wind up paying more of the taxes, they didn't want to pay for "freeloaders" any longer, which is what they really think the rest of us are...as per Romney's 47% "gaff".

Never mind that the kind of monetary systems and even the very availlability of "jobs jobs jobs" isn't in the hands of the rest of us, except as how unions are blamed for "costing us jobs" simply because they ask for a living wage for the people making all that wealth possible...is what wrecks the economy periodically, plus the very greed of those champions of "Values" and especially Jesus...if only workers could be reduced to slaves again we'd see prosperity for all etc.

Thatcher and Reagan couldn't come out and SAY that...instead they had to talk nonsense that would get the damfools to vote against their own best interests, which is the challenge of Fascism, which only came into existence with modern Capitalism coupled with democracy. People seem to have wised up, ever so slightly...but really we're still in the hands of a one-party system disguised as competing political "philosophies".
