...they had many valid claims. When they said that everyone should be able to read the Bible and judge for himself they knew that much of what Rome had invented didn't exist in the Bible...that the pope had been making things up to suit himself and his rule over people. Had the popes been honest and had they been able to reform the Church, there would have been no need for Martin Luther...so they brought it on themselves...the funny thing is that as soon as Protestants became a majority anywhere THEY insisted that no one could deviate from THEIR "truths"...and Minime was born.

...but when they read the Bible they found in it the words of Jesus in St John...they realizied that on this the popes had been telling the truth...that Jesus did indeed say his followers must eat and drink him...and Protestants continued to do so until later, when new groups of "Dissenters" (PROTESters, wouldn't do because these people protested against both Catholics AND official Protestants)tried to distinguish themselves even further from other sects...that's when the idea that Jesus couldn't have meant REAL flesh and REAL blood was born...it was entirely political. These smaller sects had to distinguish themselves in as many ways as they could so they decided that THEY would interpret the words of Jesus, even though his words were plain and clear and needed no interpretation.

...It's funny that when Jesus speaks clearly and says EAT me, these people look for "allegories" and say he was being "metaphorical" and it was only "symbollic"...but when it comes to Heaven and eternal life on a cloud, Jesus was to be taken LITERALLY! Even though he's vague on the subject of an actual. physical place "op there". In fact Jesus never meant "up there", and neither did the Church...Jesus meant down HERE...the Messiah was supposed to make his kingdom on earth...to defeat the forces of Evil on earth and those who believed in him would live forever on earth...but, when he didn't show up and he didn;t show up, the Church changed the message to mean "up there"..and you also didn;t have to wait in your grave until Judgement Day, but could take the express to Heaven just as soon as you died. It was in 1000 AD the Church. in order to keep people believing, changed the teaching and said heaven was in some weird place above the clouds...and no one takes this more literally than Born-Agains...who have their houses all picked out, furniture supplied by the Lord etc.

So whenever it suits Minime, he takes the Bible to have an EXACT meaning...although the bible never talks about a paradise up above a cloud where you live with your friends and family...still, that's what his kind have come to believe as the REAL meaning of Paradise, all out of their own whacky heads...but when Jesus saus REAL flesh and REAL blood which you HAVE to eat, he gets creative and origional and misty-eyed and tells us that it is all ALLEGORICAL....talk about making God up as you go along and calling it "truth"!
