...can't deny that he was a legitimate artist...I never cared for his work, but I respect the man and admit that "liking" someone is no measure of anything. I don;t like most artists....I don;t like the art world...I don't like art schools and I especially dislike art teachers and worst of all are the gallery owners with critics right behind...I don;t know any artists, I don't associate with artists, I hate discussing art...in fact I don;t know what I'm doing here...I was never a child prodigy, I didn't cry until someone put art materials in my hand...I have no idea what got into me when at the age of 19 I "decided" to sculpt, except that I was very moved by Tommy Smith and Juan Carlos when they raised the Black Fist at the Mexico Olympics...but why that should have led me to sculpture I've never figured out...I just want to sculpt what I want sculpt and screw the rest.
