All day today, my Assyrian family and Iranians around L.A. with whom I've spoken, have attacked me for not grieving because Ali Reza, the younger son of Iran's former dictator, Reza Pahlavi, committed suicide. They kept insisting that since I don't like the Shah, I must be on the side of the Mullah's... How abusurd!! It's like saying you're either with us or you're withthe Mullahs. (bullshit!!)

(I'm tired of reading about the "King of Kings" and the "Prince of Persia".)

Stephen Kinzer, who's book, "All the Shah's Men" (a great intro to Western
foreign policy and covert intervention in the Iran), had this to say about the passing of Ali Reza Pahlavi:

"This shocking act of self-slaughter was the latest violent tragedy in the long history of a family drenched in blood - first that of the Iranians it tortured and killed, then its own.

"It's a drama of Shakespearean dimensions. The Shah once ruled Iran with an iron fist, but his family later paid dearly for his sins, echoing Hamlet's judgement that royal crime 'cannot come to good'."

Thank you, Mr. Kinzer.. you've echoed my own sentiments

I'll never forget watching on TV the trial and execution of Poet/Revolutionary, Khosro Golesorkhi, who refused to defend himself... as he poetically and politely replied to the uniformed men behind murderous ray bans, "I am not here to defend myself... I am here to defend my cause.. and I am prepared to die for my cause.." And he did... in front of the Shah's firing line, refusing a blindfold.. staring into the cold barreled eyes of his executioners.. He was one out of many who lost their lives by all the Shah's men.. he too had a mother, brothers and sisters who died in spirit when he died in flesh. And the Shah, so arrogantly (in a close up) told Mike Wallace that he ordered the executions because "they were Marxists".
