The US military industrial complex is a huge cash cow for the profiteers just as the prison industry is. No way would they ever reconsider it or change it. The presidential candidates all ignored this part, and when someone did ask them about it, they would rudely say "what, you're saying we're at fault?" Their arrogance and greed will never allow them to change their foreign policy and no matter how expensive it is. The US owes the most money and continues to borrow just to pay past debts which will never be erased or paid off. This is also where Israel comes into the picture. Besides radical Christians who have their porn fantasies about Jesus coming back when Israel exists and all Jews return, this is also the best way to get Israelis and US citizens to pay for weapons and defense of Israel. Americans don't benefit from Israeli friendship nor do the ordinary Israelis. It's the profiteers and investors who benefit from it. Both the US and Israel could use a policy change and the US needs it more than anyone else. If they changed, it would eliminate most of the problems almost immediately. The defense budget needs to be slashed by 90% and that would be a good start. It explains the problem with ordinary Americans when their government spends so much on defense and very little on education. No wonder they're so foolish. They need to fund education and health, both mental and physical, and not so much on military, wars and weapons. --------------------- |
