United States was hi-jacked by a small group of wealthy landowners who attacked Jefferson's Articles of Confederation, replacing it with the Constitution to protect the "minoriry of the opulent" from the Jeffersonian Democratic ideals. The origins of USA was the crossing of the Ohio Valley (Western Expansion). So, the rich, who never fight wars, hired poor landless men to the fighting for them, hence, the killing of the American Indians. When they couldn't pay off the mercenaries, revolts broke out - the most famous being "Shays Rebellion". James Madison wanted to ovecome the "tyranny of the majority" to protect the minority landowners ("minority of the opulent"). So in 1787 they locked the doors at the Philadelphia Convention and drafted the Constitution to shift power to "responsible men" so that the "wealth of the nation" will be in charge. The Bill of Rights was fought and forced down on the Constitution by the Anti-Federalists in 1791 by including Civil Rights and Civil Liberities. Since then, there has been the shaving off the Bill of Rights by the wealthy minority in power through propaganda invoking hysteria such as the "Red Scare" in the 20th Century to "Terrorism" in the 21st. Meanwhile, wars are fought, money is made and freedom is lost. Business as usual.
