I had this dick sucker from the former Yugoslavia tell me how it only took five and half years to become a doctor in the old country whereas in the US it takes longer. He thought this was a good thing because "we learn and train better" but he either ignored or didn't realize that here it's about money and the more classes you take, the more you have to take. The first few years don't have anything to do with your actual field anyway and much of it is useless but it goes back to capitalism and education being a business for profit and a privilege for certain people. The five years "back home" were actually better because you were already taught the garbage they teach in US colleges in middle school. The five years is all you really need to be a doctor. Even in Haiti in only takes about five years to be a doctor or a lawyer. I guess they rather pay lots of money, take bogus classes for more years and work two jobs just to pay the money back for loans instead of get education guaranteed without needing to pay a cent extra from your pocket.

It is no wonder that many people from former Soviet republics actually say life was better under "communism" than today. In some countries it's over 72% who say this. We were always told how bad people had it in Soviet Union and how everyone was escaping and the millions who died, though that's never actually been proven, but we are never told that there were no homeless, there was free health care, education, day care, guaranteed housing, jobs and much more. We aren't told about the people who actually migrated to Moscow and elsewhere from the capitalistic west. Why not mention both sides and tell the truth. Was it a paradise, hell no, but is the US a paradise, also, hell no.
