I agree wholeheartedly. Islam had no need of forced conversions...in fact at one point when a sultan decided to smooth the path to conversions his vizier warned that this would lead to reduced income from the taxes levied against non-Muslims....so at that time at least it was against the interests of the state to encourage, let alone force, conversions. But, so many converted that eventually all Muslims were expected to pay the land tax as well....to DIScourage Christians from converting.

However recently I read of a time when Christians were forced to convert...but this was done only to punish them because of their treachery against their Islamic state. I've only read of this one instance while the record, as told to us by Christian historians, is replete with the record of forced conversion to Christianity by Jews and Muslims, carried out under threat of execution and worse.

It seems Christians have a penchant for smearing others with their own manifest crimes.
