Most interesting...will definitely get the book.

Evangelists, and the Church was an evangelical church, are willing to lie for Jesus, for the sake of spreading the faith...they give themselves absolution for every other sin and crime, why not for lying? Lying is a big part of their program...hell the ALL lie to children...and they lie to this day...anything to "save souls" is okay.

I don;t believe that any but a handful of non-Israelites ever went to Jesus voluntarily....all of history shows that Christianity was forced on people and later covered up, or "sweetened", by the same lying Evangelists.

The notion that we are born in sin, unworthy worms, who have to earn God's forgiveness...(or that of the Emperor), is a pretty appealing "message" to an Empire made up of 100 nations and peoples and a host of babbling religions.

As Voltaire said in regard to the 700 families he had living and working on his estate...philosophically of course there may be no god, but if belief in him can keep my workers from stealing from me, then I believe, and they must too....he even built a chapel on his estate to spread the Word...and the primary Word he was interested in is, "Thou shalt not steal from me"...or else.

It's the "or else" that really makes a religion a religion.
