If christianity had solely relied on "preaching gospel" as they claim, it would have remained tiny and irrelevant. It wasn't until well into the fourth century that christianity even became significant. The very few in the early ages were mostly uneducated, poor, and from the lowest class, and even then it was very few. With all the "sheltering poor" and "feeding people" in the roman empire, christianity wasn't doing so good. It took the roman emperor to make christianity what it is and it was forced on the citizens. The former gods were outlawed and pagans were burned, thrown in jail, tortured etc. If this happened in europe, do we expect different in asia, africa and elsewhere? This is how it spread for the most part and every kind of deception has been used to catch fish. The gospel preaching doesn't work and people didn't find christianity interesting or appealing so force was the number one method. Spanish did it, italians did it, brits and others. It's the christian way of doing it, and then you change clothing, appear sweet and accuse muslims of doing what you did. This is christianity.
