...you reach a point in every society where the products manufactured cannot be bought by the employees....not if their wages are constantly being downsized...

and, when you reach that tipping point, executives panic and decide the only place to get fast profits is by cutting wages further, as well as eliminating health care and other benefits. On top of that the CEOs of companies they didn't start and have no loyalty to or interest in, besides maximizing profits and stock dividends, vote themselves even higher wages and parachutes, all of it squeezed out of the pockets of workers.

It's no wonder then that sooner or later the economy "fails" This is a consumer economy...we make things we than have to buy...or else they accumulate on shelves and in warehouses and people lose their jobs because there isn't any demand..people can't afford to buy at the same rate.

The Economy was the strongest when unions were the strongest. It's true that at that time executives didn't make millions and billions and not much was available in the way of instant wealth from playing the stock market...but workers were able to afford to buy they turned out...wages and buying power were good...far better than they have been at any time since.....the media, of course, has focused only on those who do exceptionally well...just as the publicity arm of a casino will brag about how much money can be won....by a very few people.

It takes no big deal to figure out what the problem is, or to resolve it. But you have to think a little...and most of us terribly averse to thinking...mostly because we've been discouraged by priests and teachers along the way.

But it's a simple thing to fix.
