To be honest, I don't like the view that some Mideastern men hold who arrive in the West and think all Western women are whores. I had this problem with a new-arrival Assyrian relative in San Jose. I also saw the same thing with some former Arab neighbors who had to school and correct the behavior of one their cousins who had just arrived from Jordan and was drooling over every woman that came in his view. On the other hand, I had an American friend who was dating an Iranian girl and was under the impression that she would submit to whatever he wished since she was Muslim. In my world, real men respect women as equals. It's the little boys who don't know how to behave around the ladies.

And yes, the girl's father was Christian, but his family back in Indonesia were Muslims.
