-- When I was 19, I fell in love with a girl whose father was Indonesian and mother a white racist evangelical from Irish ancestry. That year the movie "Not Without My Daughter" had made the rounds. It was about an Iranian doctor who while studying in the U.S. meets and marries an American (played by Sally Fields) with whom he has a daughter. They go to Iran to meet the guys's family and in as time goes by he starts getting "Muzzie-Eye-Ranian" on her: yells at her, slaps her around and refuses to let her leave the house. I didn't watch the entire film, since it was so stupid and predictable. But my girlfriend's mother not only watched it but bought the video and almost memorized it. When she found out that I had deflowered her lily white daughter, she had a shit! One weekend, I took my girlfriend to a desert festival, dropped some LSD and had a wonderful time with a bunch of hippies. Her mom was going insane not having heard from her. On the third day, I told her to call her mom from a pay phone and tell her that I had taken her to Iran. The stupid, racist bitch believed her and was about to have a stroke. The interesting thing was that she was a major hypocrite, because she herself had left a white man for a brown Indonesian... with whom she had two children, one of whom was my girlfriend. The double-standard with some people is just amazingly beyond comprehension!
