I was on that forum for a couple years before that. It was only after I told them that I had recently converted that they wanted me banned. There was no provoking on my behalf. After all these years I have realized who those other forums exist(maybe not all but most). They were started by people who can't deal with challenges and only want their side to be heard. Their opponents won't just go away and they can't silence them through debating so the best thing to do is start your own forum and ban those who you don't agree with. This way they can pretend the other side doesn't exist. Anyone who builds his business or career with lies will hate facing those who expose. One can see that in the US media how the other side is never allowed to challenge or counter their claims. FOX news brings people with similar views and who agree on most issues and call it a debate. One sees that among every propagandist. If I were a propagandist, I wouldn't be challenging my opponents or if I was just spreading lies. They would have to be searching for me and I would have to be the one running from them and hiding as we see them do.

You're new to this forum so you may not be aware and I gladly fill you in. We pose our challenge and asking for proofs for those two allegations because for many years we been hearing hero after hero say that Assyrians were always persecuted by Muslims, they were killed just for their religion and forcefully converted to Islam. We've heard this all our lives. When we look at historical records, we find that Nestorians were persecuted by Persians and Byzantine and it was Muslims who conquered Mesopotamia and granted the persecuted Christians protection. Nestorian missionaries managed to travel all the way to China and engage in missionary activity while under Muslim protection. This doesn't sound like a persecuted minority but more like one who is living well.

Ashur Bet-Shlimon is a nationalists who writes propaganda articles claiming that Assyrians were killed in the millions and were forcefully converted to Christianity. The missionary and historian, Thomas Arnold wrote about the Nestorians and spent some 25 years on one of his books about the treatment of non-Muslims. He stated that there was no attempt to forcefully convert the Christians to Islam. He further states that Muslims could have wiped Christians and Jews out as quickly as the Spanish wiped Judaism and Islam from Spain. He also covered India and spent many years there researching and stated the same thing about the Muslim treatment of other communities. More than 80% of the Indian population is Hindu and most of the Muslims come from south India, which was not under Muslim rule. Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world and it was never under Islamic rule. This idea that Islam was forced on people is untrue. It was Traditional Muslim orders(Sufis) who spread Islam to most parts of the world going all the way to China, Vietnam and west Africa. It was through preaching and also business contact that led to much conversions. In Senegal and Mali, it was Muslim businessmen who were there temporarily for trade purpose that introduced Islam and the natives watched the behaviors of those Muslims and that led to their conversion. The founder of Al Azar university was a Jew who converted to Islam and he did so by watching Muslims praying together as he was walking by and that attracted him.

This is not to say that Muslims didn't fight wars, conquer lands and kill people, but the idea that this was how Islam spread and that other religions were not tolerated is not true. So we have asked those nationalists who make the accusations to bring their proofs, and so far all they have given us is links to their own websites, their own articles and self-printed books. I can write a book too and pay a printing company to publish it but that don't make it valid. Historians don't pay printing companies to publish their books. The publishing company pays them for their works and the books are reviewed and checked for accuracy. Nobody checks APrim or Shlimon for accuracy because no student or interested person goes to them. When someone wants to know about ancient Assyrians, they go to Assyriologists and not Aprim or AINA.

Learning Islamic history from those types is like learning about Judaism from the KKK. If they feel provoked by me asking them for proofs, that's their problem, not mine. I'm not the one making the claims and saying I have the proofs. I give you another example. This girl was telling me that Saddam was bad to Christians and killed them. I asked her for proof and she said the whole world knows it. I said the whole world watches news on TV and doesn't know what went on in Iraq. Hell most Americans can't even find Iraq on the map, how they know what went on in that country. When I asked that girl for proof she called me names and said I was Baathist, lol. You'd think that someone making claims so casually would have evidence to back it up since there is "plenty" available but they feel provoked or think it's "rude" to question them. If I make a claim, you have every right to ask for my source and proof. If I'm provoked by you asking me or refuting me, then that's my problem and you did your part, and that's what I do. I do my part and people can do whatever they want or say whatever to it.

If you're serious about discussing, we're open to do that. You're welcome to post on here and bring whatever you have. Anyway, I tried not to write so much but I wanted to fill you in on why we do this.
