...seen them all too...good stuff.

But, sticking to pet peeves....eating scenes, I mean normal ones, give me a pain.

You have your actor who refuses to actually eat, even though a plate with food is set before him...and the one who makes an acting lesson out of chewing.

Since it's a problem for me, I watch all the more closely when it occurs.

The best actor with food to chew is Brando...he uses the food as a prop, but he doesn't overdo...the best is his orange-eating scene in Apocalypse....the orange demands your attention but somehow doesn't detract, rather it adds, to the business.

The absolute worst eater is Spencer Tracy...for a guy so accomplished in every way, he could make eating into a chore, distracting from whatever else was going on...sometimes it worked in his favor, like the licorice-gun he bit into in "Adam and Eve"....but any other time and his mastication was so staged and overblown it became a distraction...he's one actor who never should have put a bite into his mouth on camera.

And though it isn't food, another tripping point is this business of a woman crying and being offered a hankie by a man...I have cried, I've seen women cry and hardly any develop a runny nose THAT quick! I have even had a runny nose myself but I have NEVER honked the way actresses feel compelled to do...as if that final bit was somehow the punchline and should not be missed...and it occurs so frequently...don't director's watch each others movies? haven't they seen that stock bit enough times to not want to repeat it, and repeat it exactly...as if it was a rite of passage?

And don;t get me started on toilet scenes.....or vomit scenes.
