...these kinds of wars, Vietnam and Iraq, are only disasters for the country...the rulers benefit greatly. For one thing there friends make a lot of money and they benefit too, later on when they're out of office and get their share...but also, just like the "crime" scare they subject us to regularly, it's been a way to win a certain number of voters...and once in office these guys can do what REALLY matters to them, which is appoint their kind to all the committees and agencies who pave the way for more legalized thefts...scaring people over communists and now terrorists has been their ticket into office because otherwise very few would vote for them if they said what they ACTUALLY planned to do.

Also even they know the country is exhausted, the nation's credit is strained, interest on all the loans they took out for this war and all they skimmed from it, almost make it necessary that they give up the presidency. Like tag-team wrestling the Republican team member is exhausted and the match might be lost if he stays in there...it's time to tag the Democrat and have him jump fresh and new and revive the sagging interest of the fans...even they know another term in the White House would be a biigger disaster down the road...the Democrats will do their part, boldter the economy somewhat, ammass some more treasure, improve the nation's credit rating so that eight years from now we'll be told the Koreans are now the Iraqis and we need to elect officials who know how to protect us...and we'll fall for it again.

Keep an eye on that missle defense system the war-mongers are dying to build...the challenge will be to convince the American people that someone out there can actually hurl a missile at us...and Europe too. It'sa long-shot but then so was WMDs....and we KNOW they never existed....but reality doesn't count...it's all about perception.
