This jesus person could not have been very important even in his own country as he is hardly mentioned outside of the bible, which was written long after him by people who never seen him. The crucifixion story is so silly and exaggerated that only a fool who knows nothing about that history will believe. Tens of thousands of jews were crucified and people didn't just stand outside their homes watching some peasant carry a cross on his back, and it was so gruesome that people didn't watch the actual crucifixions which happened daily. It wasn't just grown men who were executed this way but women, children and anyone who voiced a controversial opinion regarding the romans. Anyone who was a political threat. Caused sedition or any kind of political problems to the romans would end up on the cross, and let's not believe the romans who had no problems insulting jews would hurry up and make sure jesus died quickly before the sabbath. This is mere fiction and bullshit.

The gospels are so different from reality that only a completely ignorant audience would believe it. Jesus never had any contact or importance with the outside world and then comes agbar or abgar whose name alone is up for debate. Nobody apart from assyrians even believe he existed and this is the problem to begin with. I don't believe he existed and even if he did, the story is completely fabricated just as the jesus of christianity doesn't fit with the historical context of his time. One can read the bible and never know that this book was written during a brutal time and this jesus just walks around barefoot giving hour long sermons with a small lamb in his hand while people around him are crucified, women are raped and the average jews are humiliated, overtaxed and oppressed. He had nothing to say about that? Why the hell would the romans kill a messiah like this? He was allowing it to happen and even telling his peasants to pay the taxes and "it's okay they are doing this to you" and rome would have loved a messiah like this because he was unique from all the others one before him whom the greeks had to crucify and deal with. The reality is that jesus is not even mentioned in the old testament as christians like to claim. There were many crucified messiahas before jesus and jesus would only be one more. It just happens that christians invented another one for political purposes and it hasd worked. Consider the romans, the spanish, hitler, the british and now the US have all used jesus as their weapon and had success.
