As George Santayana said, "those who don't remember the past are condemned to repeat it." All one has to do is look at how Jim Crow laws and the biggest domestic terror group in U.S. history, the KKK, were shaped and formed after the Civil War and during Reconstruction. The KKK at one time had millions of members and tens of thousands of supporters and sympathizers, among them were cops, former military, judges, politicians, and businessmen. What the news doesn't cover about the real domestic threat we all face (including our cops and Federal agents) is openly exposed on the web pages of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) http://www.splcenter.org/?gclid=CPCIqoj4_r0CFU5afgodInoADw . I don't understand how after reading one day's worth of articles on the SPLC website, anyone can say with a straight face that racism is no longer an issue.
