This reminds me of a joke I heard in Farsi about an airplane that blows its engine in mid-air. The captain asks of his passengers to jump out of the plane in the name and glory of their nation so as to lighten the load so that he can land the plane safely and save it. The American, of course, is the first to yell, "USA!" and jump; then, the Spanish guy: "Viva Espana!" and he dives out; when it comes to the Iranian guy, he screams, with tears in his eyes: "For my beloved Iran!" then grabs the Azeri guy behind him and shoves him out of the airbus.
