As Chomsky points out, poll after poll, the average Middle-Easterner wishes Iran had a bomb and points to Israel/US as the main aggressor in the region. Plus, Iran has the second largest number of Jews in the Mid-East outside Israel. The Iranian Jews are the richest minority living in Iran: they lived proseperous and secure lives during the reign of the Pahlavis, and after the Islamic Revolution. (And they travel freely to Israel, US and Europe.) The non-white Mizrahi in Israel, on the other hand, have been treated as second-class citizens for most of Israel's history; followed by the "swartza" Ethiopean, and in the distant fourth, the indigenous Arabs. The right-wing in Israel used the same draconian methods of shutting down dissent and shutting up the liberals and progressives in their country as we did here in post-9/11 US. To be called a "leftist" in Israel is a code word for "traitor". It's rather sad that Isreali society is turning into a nation of fascistic kapos, who are too cowardly to point out their real historical tormentors, and instead, become like their masters by subjugating a weaker people.
