Well it takes research to see the facts. Read and study the Quran and the Sunnah, compare it what the haters say, examine the Quran. You will be shockingly surprised that it is nothing like the Bible or other religious books.

Oh please, don't be rdiciouls now, when Galaleo made a shocking discovery that proved the Bible authors in error, the church was going to kill him for it if he went public with it. When I was a Christian and even now, I always hear and see Christians trying to avoid critical talks or questions. Their most common answer is always "gotta have faith" or only God knows. Don't get me wrong I am not saying it is not a good book, but I am saying that it offers no solutions and more is told on a Jewish geneology than about our purpose in life. I mean yeah it teaches good things like "don't do adultery" but gives no tool or shwos no way of how to achieve that. The New Testament is even worse. I gives no guidance in the most basic areas of life. So, there is no comparison with the 2 books. The Quran challenges mankind to "produce a chapter like it" for 1,400 years we been hearing insults and s;anders against it by angry hatemongers, yet no one has even been able to meet the challenge from God. If I hated something and wanted to prove it false, I would follow the advice of the Quran and try to produce a short beautiful chapter equivalent to the Quran, but God knows what we know not, and there is an obvious reason as to why this challenge has not been met, but instead they use foul language, insults and slanders. I guess it's more convenient to back out and do else.

>While you answer that... And since you seem to be so hooked on taking things literally and claiming that you use "common sense", can you enlighten us about "Zawaj El Mut'a" from the Qur'an? ( I heard about it but never heard an explaination from an AssyrianMuslim before...

Zawaj el Muta, or as some say "temporary marriages" there is no such thing in the Quran, but the practice was known in the early days of the Islamic era, and it allowed people who were far away from home and for long periods of times to get married provided the same way as a permanent marriage. It had to last for at least a certain time and it was encouraged to remain married afterwards and as most did anyways. Secondly, it was finally baned by the prophet once the Muslims established themselves in Madina. As for this practice from the Quran, there is no such marriage even in the Quran, and I am a Muslim so we don't practice or believe in such marriage. You have to talk to your Shiite buddies, and not me on that subject. Hope that helps you. If you need more on this subject, inform me and I will gladly give you more info on it.

Also, using your own "common sense", can you explin what "Common Sense" means?

When I say common sense, it means using your preicious mind without prejudices and biases. We are all born as the Quran and Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) said in "fitrah" "pure nature" or better said in a state of Islam (to submit to the creator). So we have this natural instinct to know basic right from wrong and to know that there is a Creator or higher power. And when a child grows up it will be exposed to the surroundings such as family tradition, prejudices, society etc and it becomes difficult to use "common sense". But If you use the "common sense" which God gave you and reflect, think, ponder and research it with an open mind, you will come to know the Creator and will worship him on his term by his guidance of course. So, one has to be willing to seek truth and be sincere rather than prejudice and arrogant. When you make an effort with sincerity, God will guide that person. So when a person grown to maturity and ends up finding the truth and embraces Islam, such person is not converting to another "religion" but rather returning to his/her "original nature" to "Surrender to the will of the Creator".

I hope you won't skip anything...

There is nothing to skip out and if I don't know something, I will get to know it and then answer. But there is nothing to skip out, thank God, that he didn't leave mankind in darkness and thank God for sending his final Messenger Muhammad(pbuh) to guide mankind from darkness into light and 1,400 years later millions and millions more are being reformed by the message of this great man and whether a rich Caucasian from sunny California, to an AfricanAmerican in the ghettos or in jail, to others around the globe, they all find the truth in Islam and become transformed by it.

(We'll get to "proof, fact, evidence, and logic" later)

Ok no problem, inshallah, I be here. Don't be shy or drag your feet in coming out of the shell and asking. And thank you for asking me about Islam. Peace
