At least for the Nazi gas chamber attendant there was a human element and experience in witnessing the people in flesh and blood who where sent to their deaths in the camps of Europe.

...when your murderers are that well concealed, is it a wonder you resort to guerilla attacks? All "terror" really means is that those much weaker than you, whom you bully and who can't get directly at you or match you weapons for weapon, resort to whatever means will do...and which are therefor unknown to you, hence they "terrify" you....because you don;t know where it's coming from or when or against whom...which is EXACTLY what Iraqis and Afghanis and Pakistanis have to contend with....the terro is coming from the West...but the West is "terrified" because their victims dare fight back...by any means necessary.

Is it now unpatriotic to talk simple common sense?
