Assyrians have never produced someone like that Armenian Marxist, but they brag about Agha Potros and even sing songs about him and call him "savior of Assyrians." I also grew up with the myth of Agha until I found out he was a murderer and had most of his success murdering helpless women, Children and peasants. They are proud of a man whose opponents were unarmed Azeris, Iranians and other Muslim civilians. Western eye witnesses testified to that themselves as they saw him slaughtering unarmed civilians. The most reliable sources have the Assyrian population within the Ottoman empire at 210,000 at most. There is no way the Turks murdered 500,000 or whatever Assyrians claim. From what I have researched outside of Fred Aprim and his likes, around 25,000 died totally. The Armenian population was at around 1,2 million and also hard to imagine Turks managed to slaughter 1,5 million. If you look at the claims from earlier times, you will notice the numbers of dead Christians kept going up and it is now believed to have been an exaggeration.

There were also over 500,000 Turks who died and when I bring that up to the nationalists, they say those deaths were because of starvation, cold, famine, etc. If so, then how come Assyrians and Armenians didn't get affected by those causes and all of them had to be killed by Turks? It is a fact that the majority of deaths on all sides occurred as a result of the above mentioned causes. Turkey hasn't denied that some Christians were killed but they have denied that the Ottomans intended a genocide. The telegram attributed to Talat Pasha has been proven a fabrication as was suspected all along. The problem with this whole genocide is that most historians have been kept out of it and we got politicians debating it instead. Armenians have assassinated people in the past for bringing any kind of evidence or denying it. Most historians have been afraid to discuss this or get involved because of how dangerous it is. It's not Turkey who is denying or afraid to debate this. It was turkey who has called for a discussion in which only historians do the research and tell it as it is. It's Armenians and the others who are running.

So far there is no convincing evidence that a genocide was the intention of the Turks in 1915. We know there was a war in which the Russians and others were trying to dismantle the Ottoman empire and they used the local Christians to rise up and fight. The genocide claimers still can't explain how the rest of the Christians were left unharmed and how churches remained open as usual during the entire time. The killings occurred on the eastern side where the problems were coming from. It is, therefore, obvious that the Turks were protecting their land and were at war. The Turks actually had the decency not to kill women, children, etc. They only targeted the men who were at war or at least that's what they tried to do. They did more expelling than anything. However, my own grandfather, who was about 15 at that time, remembers when his own father was killed(he was among those that took cash from Russians and betrayed Turks). He later served in the military and would tell stories of Assyrians(with those silly french mustache) would kick in the doors of local Turks/Kurds and would execute them. He remembers stabbing pregnant Turkish women and pulling out the babies out of their bellies.

These memories haunted him all the way to old age and he would cry and shake when telling the stories before he died. This was a man who remembers his own father being killed but the Turks never harmed him, his mother or siblings because they had the decency to spare lives and even show mercy during a time of war. I am not taking sides here nor do i got anything invested in this but I like to know what really happened. If a genocide happened, then I want justice as well but I don't see any evidence for that so far. However, as long we talking genocides, America is guilty of a few, the Spanish committed that in centra;/south America, and elsewhere. The US has demolished Iraq and Afghanistan and not to mention Vietnam where over 2 million were murdered.

Let Assyrians recognize that since they pretend to care about people. They wouldn't care if a million Assyrians were killed by America or UK because they are white and Christian after all, but when it comes to Muslims, they are guilty before proven so. This is bullshit and I just don't buy it. It's also kinda hypocritical for someone who complain about a genocide to a people are themselves guilty of that. How can they complain to White people when they raped native American women, chopped their toes off, tortured, murdered and stole their lands and wealth. What kind of face do these Assyrians have? As that half Assyrian did in that wedding you told me, I would have done the same and beaten down as many as I could. Me, my cousin in Berlin and one of my uncle's just can't be in the same room with Assyrians. We hate them the way Assyrians hate Muslims and we are from the same community. We have bad history with them and can never like them or get along with them.
