My only interest in it is to place it in proper perspective...removing all the slanders that have been heaped upon it by others as well as our own. I make a big distinction between our ancient heritage and this newer Christian thing we've tacked onto it. As far as I'm concerned Christianity has been a disaster, not just for us, but for almost everyone else in the world who was not Christian..including many, many other Christians.

I don't believe there is anything "Assyrian" about those Christians hiding behind and using the name. But, they are still human beans and deserve more security than they can expect, caught as they are between Muslims, driven mad by western Christian brutality, and our foolish "nationalists", all of them Christians in disguise, who use the plight of Iraqi Christians for their own narrow and twisted ends...all of which are either religious or due to megalomania.

The best way to protect the Christians of Iraq is NOT to do any of the following.

1. Demand ANYTHING outside of what any citizen of Iraq can fairly expect.

2. Specifially: NO safe haven, territory, patch, triangle or anything that even comes close. Our people have suffered most when they've alligned themselves with Westerners in hopes that they would "do something" for us...and whenever they've sought to make distinctions between themselves and their Muslim brothers and sisters.

Also it's imperative to shoot down every argument made that we are the indigenous people of Iraq, as verses anyone else in Iraq...and to refute, with evidence and reasoning, any claim to direct ancestry from Ashurbanipal etc.

Only in these ways will any of the few remaining Christians in Iraq stand a chance...if you want there to be a "presence" in Iraq, then it will only be possible to maintain it in these ways...if you insiston a presence AS the indigenous people of Iraq, an "Assyrian Nation", with special or ANY separate "rights"..then you doom those people....WE doom them...not Islam...and certainly not Iraqis.

The only Assyrian heritage I reverence is the memory and legacy of the original Assyrians...the ones who were real Assyrians...who spoke and wrote aan Assyrian language and not the Aramaic one we speak.

My connection to it is not genetic or biological but cultural. It helps to have some claim to being born there, but even that isn't necessary. I adore Shakespeare without being born English.

The Assyrian monuments and sculpture I made were all ASSYRIAN and not Christian. It remains now to create other Bet-Nahrain based sculpture and take it out into the world....to begin to make the Assyrian heritage, the real one and not this Christian Mongolid Idiot thing we're plagued with, a part of the mainstream culture...or at least begin the process.

We have another split in our religious sects...one more division...and now the AUA wants out of the AANF and Dadeeshoo is going to throw a competing annual convention. Unity? It has never been and will never be...as "modern assyrians" our entire sense of who we are is religious...and we all know relgions break into sects and factions..and since our so-called political groups are, at their "assyrian" base, merely Christians or various sects...there never will be unity....not unless you enforece it as the church did...by burning all "heretics"...excomunicating them, so they don't count...or forcibly converting them...argument and discussion will never suffice...it never did, in religious and quasi-religious matters...and it won't in our so-called "political" posture either.

We are not a nation but agaggle of religious sects....our behavior confirms that in every way.
