The mysteries "A" that went missing for so long. I am attempting to solve this issue which has become so popular by the Dadeesho's Aprim's and others. They claim that "Suryoyo" and "Suraye" simply is short for Assyrian. Now, one does not have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that "Asuraye" is in our language. If we put an "a" in front of "suraye" it become "Asuraye" what language is that? is that even Assyrian, or better said in our medern language neo Aramaic? I don't think so. In other problem that comes into play with the above arguement is the fact that educated Assyrians use "Suraye" when referring to all Christians. When I was young I use get confused when I would hear many Assyrians talking about "suraye" I would automatically think Assyrians, but guess what? they were talking about English, Germans, Polish or any other Christians, and when I would question them for that, they would answer "he khena la surayena in? kholena Mushalmane? "surayena". So. this right there indicates that "Suraye" is a Christian thing and not Assyrian. Those sneak Christian Assyrian fanatics know this very well, and since the Arameans are much larger in population, they attempt to Assyrianize them by adding an "A" on front of their Christian name. The modern Suryoye of Tur Abdin mostly call themselves "Aramean" and only a few started to call themselves "oturoye". I lived with nothing but Suryoye in Germany, and believe me they did not call themselves Assyrian, but rather "oromoye" or "suryoye" meaning Christian.

So where did the "A" go for all them centuries? why did our ancastors forget for nearly 2000 year that they were "Aturaye"? It be one thing if they called themselves "Ashuri" since that is more in our language, but that sounds to Arabic and to Islamic according to the kkk among Christian Assyrians. However, "Ashuraye" would be more likely and appropriate instead of saying "Asuraye" and the "A" was simply forgotten or not used. The case would be thrown out of any civilized court in only 60 seconds. "Suraye" can never mean Assyrian but it is clearly a Christian thing. I am not denying that we have some ancient Assyrian blood, but I am denying the myths created recently to suit someone's agenda.

Suryoye and Suraye was never a replacement for Assyrian, but it was rather a Christian name. Some Assyrians try to bring evidence from books written by churches and that is not authentic. The fact remains that our people did not call themselves "Assyrians" or "Aturaye" until after 1900 and it was first used in Urmia and later in the rest. The other problem and evidence remains that only Christians are refered to Assyrians and mostly nestorians. This arguement has even been questioned by westerners of how can it be possible for an entire race to be of one belief one religion, one opinion. They can not say that every Assyrian 2000 years has not had a differen't view or an open mind to seek knowledge. The fact remains that many Assyrians accepted other beliefs and they still do, but when people use mafia/ Vatican tactics it's hard to see the proof. An Assyrian woman can lose her identity if she marries a Muslim. An Assyrian can lose his identity if he rejects Christianity.

The case of the "A" infront of suraya is very weak and also false. The fact that only Christians can call themselves Assyrians is another proof that it seems like a western invention. One can be truly Assyrian but be denied by the majority of Christian fanatics, but don't really have to be Assyrian in order to claim the label. As long as one is Christian and hates Muslims and anyone else who is different, one is Assyrian, but you don't have to be an Assyrian by blood or ethnicity. It's like saying Catholic, Babtist, Jehova Witness, it's just a religious cult, and that means Assyrian is just another along with the 34,000 varuious sects, cults, and denominations which hate each other.

How does that work out all? how can one be purely 100% Assyrian, and how did their blood surv9ive for over 2,600 years untouched and pure, yet people who fell centuries after became history? what happened to the ancient Arameans, the Chaldeans, the Babylonians, the Amerotes and all others? how did today's Assyrians become more Assyrian than the ancient ones who were mixed, and how did they survive 100% and no one else did? please don't be redicilous and quote a verse from the bible which is open for debates and various interpretations. I have questioned many differen't pastors and learned men of the Bible and not one had the answer that Christian Assyrians think. In fact they all had differen't answers, but knew that it don't mean that today's Assyrians will actually have a country. So don't kdd yourselves.

Let's face the fact that we don't achieve justice by fabricating liews and crying like women of how much we been persecuted. We were never persecuted, but rather punished and prosecuted for our filthy actions. The Native Americans, the Blaks, the Jews been persecuted and never got justice from the White Christians, but Assyrians were never punished by the Turks or the Arabs because of religion, but it was rather for our actions and conspiracies. The Turks had Western Christian allies, and infact since then to this day Muslims are the persecuted, and oppressed in Turkey and many other so called Muslim lands.

Change the behavior, and lower the hate level, the bigotry, and it will get better, but trying to Assyrianize everyone and lie about it is not going to cut it. I don't know how a so called Christians can actually try to achieve something by dishonesty lies, hatred, racism, bigotry, and cheating. I personally and any God fearing honest individual would feel bad about it. Despite that, there are priests, monks, and fake civil rights activist who call themselves Assyrian and Christian who are willing to do anything to achieve an agenda. Shame on that. It's a discrace to be that way.

But they can never Assyrianize everyone and grab the label exclusive 4 themselves and ignore facts. It will only make them foolish. Just as there are survivers of the ancient Assyrians, there are descendants of Babylonians, Chaldeans, Amorites, Aramean and everything else. In fact, The shiites of modern Babylon resemble the ancient Babylonians more, and even claim them as their ancastros with their tall heights, dark features, and damn religion has never changed that for them. I am not trying to attack but simply state the facts and express my view as well.

Today's Assyrian is a Christian thing and nothing more. Just as there are Assyrians, there are descendants of others, and no one is purely 100% of anything. If they can't face that, they need a reality check. Hiding behind a label in order to achieve a crusade and turn this into sa Christian thing is not going to work. It only makes innocent Assyrians look stupid and racist in the eyes of other people in the middle east. Even Christian Arabs don't behave this way except for the few who been influenced by this illness. So it's best to change the behavior or else it will get no where.
