Recent research has revealed that emotional trauma can result from such common occurrences as an auto accident, the breakup of a significant relationship, a humiliating or deeply disappointing experience, the discovery of a life-threatening illness or disabling condition, or other similar situations.

Traumatizing events can take a serious emotional toll on those involved, even if the event did not cause physical damage.

Regardless of its source, an emotional trauma contains three common elements:

• it was unexpected;(It happened while I was a little boy in Kirkuk)
• the person was unprepared; (It happened again While I was an adult in Chicago)and
• there was nothing the person could do to prevent it from happening.(I wish there was)

It is not the event that determines whether something is traumatic to someone, but the individual's experience of the event. And it is not predictable how a given person will react to a particular event. For someone who is used to being in control of emotions and events, it may be surprising - even embarrassing - to discover that something like an accident or job loss can be so debilitating.

If we become frozen in a state of active emotional intensity, we are experiencing an emotional trauma - even though sometimes we may not be consciously aware of the level of distress we are experiencing

Common personal and behavioral effects of emotional trauma:

• substance abuse (This is a “free” forum to abuse ALL Christians and ALL Assyrians indiscriminately)
• compulsive behavior patterns (Assyrians are not Assyrians and ALL Christians are criminals) AND (I KNOW THE TRUTH)
• self-destructive and impulsive behavior (Messing up with Government Authority and FLEEING to Mexica)
• uncontrollable reactive thoughts [/b] (I HATE CHRISTIANS AND THOSE SO CALLED ASSYRIANS) [/b]
• inability to make healthy professional or lifestyle choices (SMASHING sculptures)
• dissociative symptoms ("splitting off" parts of the self) (I am the only true Assyrian and everyone else is a “Nestorian”)
• feelings of ineffectiveness, shame, despair, hopelessness (I can’t destroy Christianity before the give us a second holocaust)
• feeling permanently damaged (Christians are teaching us to eat human flesh)
• a loss of previously sustained beliefs ( I thought I would never be “backstabbed” by “Christians”)

Common effects of emotional trauma on interpersonal relationships:

• inability to maintain close relationships or choose appropriate friends and mates
• sexual problems ( I don't want virgins in Janna)
• hostility. (I hate ALL Christians and Assyrians)
• arguments. ( I hate MiniMe)
• social withdrawal (I’m happy as a convict in Mexico)
• feeling constantly threatened (Those Damn Christians are destroying the world)

I guess I am screwed and it’s too late for me to see a Psychologist... :(
