I came across the following list: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Iraqis

It seems that we have very few contemporary prominent figures particularly in science and business. We have one famous architect (Zaha Hadid) but I guess that's it. The rest are Iraqis of Jewish ancestry.

When you compare the list with that of the other countries in the region, we really lag behind.
