...I watched Bill Maher go ballistic against a guests seated in a back row...apparently the guy insisted on talking 9/11 and what might really have happened...angry that Security was not evicting him, Maher rushed off the stage and down the aisle yelling that he would throw the guy out himself..it was a rare display but interesting....I've also seen Hitchens drown out a man who tried to ask a similar question during one of his debates, when the floor was opened to questions...that such a "high" intellectual as Hitchens couldn't have demolished this question, and what a sight it would have been, but instead chose to do the equivalent of La La La La La, until they spirited the guy away, made be ashamed of him...if Hitchens knows better why not accept the challenge and proceed to "Hitchslap" the guy silly? Why avoid?

Now I'm wondering if Hitchens would ever have agreed to debate a Muslim on that issue, what really happened on 9/11...instead of just debating religions...or if he would appear on stage with ANY engineer or scientist or journalist who, using scientific method and NOT religious phobia, would have challenged the accepted view....or in a debate where a Muslim was explaining "jihad" from a political and not a religious perspective...I think Hitchens would have refused....but get together to slam religions, especially Islam, he'd be there...this is bigotry, in fancy clothes, and not intellectualism.

In the debate with Galloway a desperate Hitchens goes for the handkerchief when he admonishes the crowd to do something in solidarity with their Iraqi brothers and sisters....why shouldn't we have shown solidarity earlier when the United States killed 700,000 Iraqi brother and sister babies...why only when the United States was there? Why, because it was MUSLIMS who could be identified as their enemy? What about Iraq's Christian enemies?

Hitchens and Maher too made certain they would not have to face these stickier questions and instead reduced it all to what the Nazis would have understood....just another "evil" religion coming for US!
