>
>***Like the Turks, English, Scotts, Greeks, and INDIANS lost their culture?

...Exactly. When you say "English" whom do you mean? The English once spoke an entirely different language...they were once Viking and Germanic...no one Engl;and today wants "Viking rights"...they know that culture is long gone.
>
>"As is obviously clear, today's Assyria is based on religion and the two are one and the same to most Assyrians."
>*** Only you and pancho insist on tat... And a few other ignorants...

...many people see that. And, what's more important and to the point; all the people who have power over the Christians of Iraq and who hold power on an international level see it as well. It's so obvious. Which is the main reason you don't see it.
>
>"you should inform other Christians that Assyrian does not mean that one is Church of the East or Christian period."
>
>*** No need to tell anyone. As I said, only you, pancho and a few other idiots insist on that so you have something to argue about and make yourself feel "smart"

...this is your poor attempt to get rid of what blows holes through you. There's nothing wrong with being light and breezy in your glib answers...but that's all you have ever offered. Nowhere have you explained your views with anything but throw-away lines. This is like whistling in the dark to show you aren't afraid. But you are.
>
>"And please, don't try to turn the table in making it seem as if brother Pancho has made this up over night, I have seen this with my own eyes and if you haven't seen it, then either you don't know any Assyrians or you are just ignoring it, but it is very common among most of them to think that only they are truly Assyrian and in most cases their claims are based on being not only Christian, but of a certain denomination."
>
>*** One can ony see what one is LOOKING FOR... too hard for you to understand?

...silly.
>
>"Now one does not have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that the above person is abviously a Christian more than anything. But, why aren't there any people named Ashur, Sargon or any other Assyrian names?"
>
>*** Your name is MUSLIM, how come you're Assyrian?

...religion doesn't matter. Except it's ALL you people do.
>
>"why are they all Christians and all their work is based on church rather than "Assyrianism"."
>
>*** Because that is ALL they had for more than 2000 years

...that's exactly the point he's making. That is ALL there is to this claim of your's; 2000 years of Christianity with NO semblance or memory of ever having been ethnically Assyrian...which the Jews retained. No European had to come back, a couple of thousand years later, and tell the Jews about Solomon...or David...or Napishtum being much older than Noah...these were things they NEVER forgot...because they kept their Holy Book....we too had a holy book, in fact we had several...like the Enuma Elish and the Epic of Gilgamesh...why did we lose them? Why did we forget our heroic kings while the Jews remembered that thirf David? Why did we ONLY remember and respect Jonah and his message to the Ninevites...or the few references, all of them negative, to Assyrians in the bible and ONLY in the bible? Why did Layard have to uncover our history for us when the Jews remembered all of their's AND their history was such a shabby thing compared with ours?

..Let me save you the effort it takes you to breezily write an "answer: "Oncew again you your ignorant looking for what you see foolish stupid too." Does that about cover it?

, just like the Jews political ideology was based on RELIGION... Is this too hard too?

...the Jews can do that because they remained FAITHFUL to their religion...while you all switched to a "universal" faith which had at its centerpiece the idea that all people are one. You people went evangelising to spread the message...the Jews never did that. Judaism has valiantly attempted to remain true to its most ancient rituals and beliefs...you have not. You dumped the one thing that made people Assyrian; faith in theAssyrian religion plus language. After that you placed all your existence in the Christian faith..which was nothing more than a Jewish knock-off...and then you come back, centuries later, claiming you were Assyrian ALL THAT TIME! Pretty silly...no?
>
>"I mean now suddenle after the British naned the Nestorians as "Assyrians" suddeenly there are Assyrian nationalists,"
>
>*** I told you before; it wasn't the British, it was the SHOVEL.

...it was the British...as we all admit that the pope "invented" the modern Chaldeans...that they can produce not one docuyment "proving" they are descended from the ancient Chaldeans...something you can't do either to prove you are Assyrians. It amazes me, though it shouldn't, that you made these accusations at the modern Chaldeans without seeing how they applied to you just as well....but, like I said, it really shouldn't surprise me.
>
>*but we couldn't find one a 100 years ago or so, why is that?"
>
>*** Because you and pancho were DEAD 100 years ago, how could you hav known?

...so were you...and in your case, intellectually speaking, you still are dead. There is no record, among all the "assyrian" literature from that time in which any "assyrian" talks about himself as an ASSYRIAN; proud descendant of the ancients...as the Jews have always known of their connection to their ancients...all you have are people saying "I was born in the land of the Assyrians"...which is proof they knew the geographical name of the region...which proves nothing about them being "ethnically" Assyrian or tied in any way to the ancients...especially as they neither soeak the language nor follow the ancient religion...something the Jews still do.
>
>"You claimed that the British did not revive this name, well then you need to go argue that with the Catholic encyclopedia, the Anglican church and the majority of scholars why hold this believe."
>
>*** You and pancho are too stupid to know why they are brainwashing you with that stuff.

...it's so easy to make these one-line zingers...which is the reason there is so little dialogue in your assyria. Each side states its "facts"...mostly based on what they heard as children, which flattered them no end...and when each has stated hios position, the two sides start calling each other "stupid" and "brainwashed" and "traitors" etc. There is no real dialogue, no consideration, no contemplation...nothing but a dogmatic declaration of the "truth" and a snarling, barking reaction to all who are "wrong".

...Assyrian Muslim was Christian once...Dr Joseph comes from the same background as you and I do...I too was raised with all this stuff. The difference between the three of us and you is that you have remained fixed in the beliefs handed to you in your childhood. You've examined nothing(though you'll say, "how do you know I haven't?)...you've challenged nothing...you've tested nothing. You've been a "good boy" all your life...you believe you know the turth and, naturally, that everyone who disagrees with you has been "brainwashed"...if we were brainwashed we would have remained thinking as you do...steeped in the same "truths" we never would have deviated...the proof of this comes in the short, light answers you give when challenged...your fall-back position is always the same; you know the truth and everyone else is foolish. You claim that I do the same...but the number of challenging posts over years proves you wrong...I've gone through a public journey...hells bells I put a monument up in public that I know have to question...I've risked making the biggest fool of all out of myself in this quest to understand...I could have remained the darling of Assyria if I'd just gone on thinking as you do...a systen of beliefs I too was raised in.

But learning and understanding, which has always been followed by tremendous risk, is far more important than childhood fantasies.
>
>" In case you haven't noticed, it is not a popular opinion that today's Assyrians are descendants of the ancient Assyrians."
>
>*** And you have no idea why...

...and if you did you'd be only too happy to say. This is your usual way of sounding like you really have a lot to say, or on the mind, but you just can't be bothered to respond to such obvious fools...the question then has to be why such a wise person would bother reading all we write...to which I can give even better and more clever answers than you can...but you go ahead.
>
>"It wasn't until the foreign archaeolgists, scholars, and historians began researching and making discoveries that suddenly the modern "Assyrians" began knowing "Assyrianism"."
>
>*** Not the forein archeoloy etc... it was the LOCAL SHOVEL.

...with which you pile bullshit.
>
>"I gurantee unless Assyrians would have gone to school in the future and studied archeology that they would have even know a fraction of what we know now."
>
>*** Give me the name of the school YOU went to and I shall recomment it.
>
>"So, it's not Pancho who imagines this and it is not from Pancho that I learned this from, but it is from experience."
>
>*** And Of Course, you are the ONLY one who has valid "experience, right?
>
>"So, I don't what kind of Christian Assyrians you live with who are so open minded, logic and tolerant of other Iraqis claiming to be descendants of the ancient Assyrians."
>
>*** Missed you point here

...like I said, over and over; the best thing for us to do is never delete or ban any of you...your poverty of mind would remain hidden that way.
