...they aren't about deterrence, they are about revenge and bloodlust and it's no accident that they became popular and legal at the same time Jesus began to be shoved up our arses.....it is state murder, nothing less....the criminal has his "reasons" for murder...and the State has it's reasons...each of them can find justification for their murders...but at least the criminal is marginally crazy...and usually acts out of passion...what is the State's excuse?

We kill people to show that killing people is wrong...we say, "you must not kill" and then WE kill.

It's revenge, that's all it is.
