...where's the mystery? Over decades people's incomes, their pay, has shrunk to the point where they can't buy enough of the junk they produce...if everybody's incomes doubled, they'd start buying crap again....this kind of "economy" is unsustainable....same as it would be if the last tree and barrel of oil and lake was used up. There would nothing to produce...just the same effect as when there is no money in our pockets to buy the crap that we make.

No one is going to create jobs...or products, when there's no money to buy crap. That wouldn't be "entrepreneurship" it would financial suicide.

FDR found that out as well when he cut back on government spending too soon, sending the Depression into high gear...because you can't "borrow" your way out of this problem either...not so long as you borrow from the same Banks who caused the problem in the first place. The only think that got us out of the Depression was a really BIG government spending program known as World War II...no expense was spared to "win". And that meant giving in to unions who weren't about to let the warmongers get all the profits, so they threatened strikes unless their wages were substantially increased...and they were...and after that war, when America was the only economy left alive, demand for American products kept wages high and we had the greatest boom in the Middle Class ever...and that made it LOOK like we were doing great....but we only delayed the inevitable...and it caught up with us with a vengeance...World War III anybody? As a jobs jobs jobs program, I mean.

Plus which no one wants to lend any money to Mom and Pop for their business any more anyway....financial deregulation makes it far more attractive to gamble at Wall Street Casinos, especially when we dumb fucks pick up the tab for their losses....and their taxes are the lowest they've ever been so there's no need to re-invest in order to defer and delay taxes....it is now okay to hoard your cash. Romney, of all people, won't make this any better, especially as he's one of the main players in getting us here...no one is going to create jobs jobs jobs...it's OUR buying power that creates jobs....and we're broke.
