...they have a "Stand by Robert" website...there are no comments, so I placed this:

Robert is a cousin of mine. I've known him since he was a young man in high school. I am sorry for his difficulties and I'm certain he will be found innocent. If he is. However, considering what the United States and its allies have done to Iraq, in particular, I cannot condemn his efforts to give some small measure of relief to the innocent people whose lives have been utterly destroyed by the United States in its illegal and immoral war against the Iraqi people.

The United States broke enough laws in its war against Iraq. That my cousin bent a few in saving a few lives can hardly compare Two wrongs may not make a right. But, we're not talking about making anything right...we're talking about justice and if it takes a second wrong to bring a bit of justice to those suffering people, then so be it.

What bothers me about this whole affair is the use of the standard lies and slanders our people hurl at Muslims. I was sorry to see that one of the tactics used was to claim threats and violence directed at our people by other Iraqis. haven't all Iraqis suffered enough that now we come abusing them some more?....even to get a small advantage for ourselves? On the other hand I am pleased to have these kinds of slanders exposed as the lies they are.

There is enough hatred, ignorance and violence being directed at the people of that region. We should not be adding any more. The world has been destabilized as a result of these actions and where this will lead we can hardly know. If Iraq, and the entire region, is not safe for Muslims, it will not be safe for Christians.
