speaking of maps...

...on the news media today we see maps of Iraq which clearly show an area designated "Kurdistan"...and never one showing an "Assyria"....so, with the respect for maps I know ashur has, this pretty much settles the fact that Kurdistan "exists" and Assyria doesn't...because maps don;t lie, just ask ashur.

Also, in the media, Kurds and Kurdistan are always mentioned when discussing the region they now inhabit i.e., the north...whereas "assyrians" are never mentioned unless it's pointed to something "assyrians" said or did...but other than that they are ALWAYS referred to as Christians...where Kurds are never just called Muslims.

One can deduce therefore that as far as the modern era is concerned.

a. there are Kurds

b. there is a Kurdistan

c. There is no "Assyria"

d. "assyrians" are only mentioned as such when speaking TO the community or in a story about how these Christians make this claim...but never as a matter of course in general discussions.

In other words and for all our efforts, no one buys this crap of ours...neither about the "legitimacy of assyria" or the non-legitimacy of Kurds and Kurdistan.

They exist...wed don't. It's as easy as the map before your face.
