"My research refutes 40 years of genetic studies, all of which have assumed that the Jews constitute a group that is genetically isolated from other nations,"

This business of finding a "racial" or "national" gene is not only worthless but dangerous too...it presupposes a Chosen People having a Special Gene...and smacks too much of religion and exclusive relationships with God...which god we don't know.

We assyrians are also guilty of this...of trying desperately to construct a biological/genetic wall surrounding us and keeping others out. Turns out there is nothing special about ANYBODY that is genetic, in the way people HOPE there is.

Dummies that we are, or are made into, we believed, including many educated among us, that the Genome project would prove we were related to Ashurbanipal. I even had a retired cell biology professor at UC Berkeley breathlessly recount this outcome. How could he ever have even thought such a thing possible? More than likely because his reason was trumped by his faith, and his desperation to PROVE his faith...which can never happen because it is FAITH and by definition is the strongest where facts are weakest or better yet nonexistent. The more you have this kind of Faith the LESS you even WANT evidence...facts and evidence sullies faith, cheapens and diminishes it.

This scientist HOPED that there could be proof linking him to Ashurbanipal...seems in this case his faith wasn't nearly enough...but it's like seeking facts and evidence to prove YOUR god exists....a fool's errand and besides goes against all the hype about the value of faith and hope where there .."is no REASON" to have either.

It's shocking when otherwise knowledgeable and intelligent people begin babbling about miracles and living on clouds and angels and the rest of it...it shows what damage religion can do to healthy minds which at an early age are frightened, literally, out of their wits...whose minds can nevertheless recover and go on to learn quantum physics even with that one blighted segment.

I'm not an atheist....I refuse to be defined in ANY way by religion, even to being ANTI-religion or "without" religion...that still gives religion too much respect....I am REASONABLE, that is all. I refuse also to be known as a Flat-earther....or an anti-alchemist....or a-spontaneous combustioner....I am a firm believer in Reason...which is exactly opposite to religion.
