Itfigures...the one professor I would have travelled anywhere to take classes from is the one denied tenure and kicked out for telling the simple truth...thatīs the thing about Norman, he deals in the actual RECORD...and for that people hate or love him.

I saw a lengthy lecture at Chase Reserve and when the audience came to question him one bright articulate Zionist asked why the Arab world didnīt settle the issue when they could have in 1948 up to 1967.....Normanīs response was pure gold...he scolded the fellow for not having paid attention to anything heīd said...of not wanting to listen, to learn and to grow...he said he refused to answer his question because it had nothign to do with the topic unbder discussion which was how to solve the peoblem TODAY...the fellow made the further mistake of elaborating, thinking heīd caught Norman afraid to go into the past....but again Norman explained that he knew the history far better and could embarrass this fellow...but he did respond that back then it was true the Arabs refused to recognize Zionist legitimacy, and here he quoted a respected isareli historian, who said that built into Zionism was the removal of all Arabs from all the territories possible....so why should the Arabs recognize a legitimate right of Europeans to remove Arabs from their lands?

But, he added, since 1967 the Arabs had accepted the two state solution but Israel still does NOT...then he invited the fellow to stop taking his talking points from Zionist propaganda, stop asking question which have nothing to do with the present or the need for a peaceful resolution, which the entire world wants, except the US and Israel...anyway, it was a beautiful performance....

The reason I go on and on about this is because it shows us how far our leaders and media will go and have gone to lie to us, hide things from us and CREATE consensus, as Chomsky says...for 30 years i THOUGHT I knew about that conflict...but I knew worse than nothing...I knew what people WANTED me to know...and that has everything to do with what else we THINK we know today...about Terror, about our economy, about everything reported in the media...and by the by, the other report about the media showed that NPR is no better than the regular media when it came to this topic, because they are afraid for their funding...I lost respect for NPR 20 years ago...they have become another source of newslite.
