In the first place they chose to be cops...it's not like being born Black...no one is born in a police uniform. And they get well paid and have benefits and damn good retirement plans plus health etc. Plus, as we can see, they get lavished with all sorts of praise and tears and love just for doing their jobs, which teachers and doctors don't get. Plus they get guns and the right to shoot and kill...and rape here and there...so it's a pretty good deal all around.

And, it seems, the more Blacks they kill the more they are loved, or rather those who haven't yet made a notch are loved, and those who have killed get every benefit of the doubt and then some....and on top of it all they are called heroes...AND by hiring a few Blacks they go a long way to dispelling the notion that there is any racism anywhere...hell, if you ARE the KKK it's in your interests to hire a few Toms...I mean that's the ultimate isn't it? The KKK should take in a few Blacks...that way they would be the perfect microcosm of life in America.

Blacks don't get paid for being Black...on the contrary it's almost a guarantee of poverty and insuperable obstacles...wives of cops say that when their husbands go to work they never know if they'll be widows at the end of the day...but the odds are higher that a Black man, or woman, or child, will wind up dead or worse at the end of a day...and no one white really mourns, not really.

It's much harder, much more dangerous and with no compensation of any kind to be Black in America than to be a cop in America. Same with our soldiers, none of whom can be called heroes unless you're prepared to admit that Nazis had their "heroes" as well....the whole point of the Nuremberg trials was that military people cannot hide behind "those were order" when committing crimes against humanity and Iraqi women and children are humanity....Black Americans still subject to the horrors of slavery and Jim Crow are humanity as well.

A crime committed against your oppressors isn't an ordinary crime..it is a crime someone is forced to commit in order to survive oppression or in a very human desire to even the score a little.

Police are being used to deal with decades of social neglect brought on by the indifference and greed of those who run the system for their benefit...this war against poor and brutalized people is also one that cannot be won...that simple.

These wars are easy to start...just ask the Germans and Romans before them how they eventually play out.
