These nationalists have few answers whenever they are asked for proof that they are direct descendants of the ancients. All of their answers are the same and it goes as follows: A, "we speak Assyrian". B, "we are from Assyria". It's always of such nature or they'll mention a certain someone referring to the area as "Assyria" but such things are not proof. There wasn't even an Assyrian identity few centuries after the fall of Nineveh yet we are told that the today's Christians, who only recently became aware, are their direct descendants. I had a nationalist tell me recently "if we are not Assyrians then what happened to the ancients" and I equally asked "if there are no Chaldeans, Arameans, Summerians etc, what happened to them". I guess they believe the Summerians, Akkadians and others just disappeared but that's not the case. Even the ancient assyrians didn't just disappear but were swept up by Aramization and others. The same happened to the Summerians asnd how they disappeared from history. They didn't just suddenly cease to exist but they were swept up by the Akkadians and they disappeared as a culture, language, identity but their blood carried on and to the very recent Iraqis.

No Iraqi denies the ancients and that they are the ancestors of Iraqis, except Fred aprim and others accuse them so. No historian has ever said the Babylonians, Assyrians, etc just disappeared except these silly nationalists put such words into the mouth of others and believe everyone is against them. The Summerians, Akkadians, Amorites, Babylonians, Chaldeans, people of Mari, Assyrians and others are the ancestors of Iraqis and religion has nothing to do with it. I am currently reading an Iraqi cook book by a 'nawal nasrallah" and she mentions how Iraqi cuisine is very rich and dates back to the earliest ancestors of Iraqis. She even mentions that the word "kababs" originates from the Akkadian language and it was called "kababu". This is an Iraqi Muslim scholar and author of a cook book yet is not shy to refer to the ancients as our ancestors. But this is impossible to Fred Aprim and it's amusing how far he goes to decide who is an Assyrian and who is what. i read an article written by that punk and he states today's Chaldeans are nothing more than "Catholic Assyrians" while states that the "Mandeans are the real descendants of Babylonians and Chaldeans" and not the today's Catholics.

It's funny how he is so bigoted that he can't refer to an Iraqi Muslim who lives in Babylon and even claims to be babylonian as one but brings the mandeans and throws this label on them. Every Christian bigot has this in common. They do it with Egyptians while claiming only Copts are truly Egyptians and in Mesopotamia it is only Christians and then Mandeans now are Babylonian. The truth is that there have been Iraqi Muslims from the earliest days who were proud of their ancestors but none of them were stupid enough to claim to be purely descendant nor that only certain people could be.
