...finally. The latest round-up of lamentations is renewed...and the tune's the same. Lifted this from the end of a longish article:

"Given this, all Assyrians still in their senses should expediently understand that the Assyrian struggle in Iraq is not ‘the Assyrians vs the Kurds’, ‘the Assyrians vs the Arabs’ or ‘the Assyrians vs the Turks’. It is actually internal and is best described as ‘the Assyrian nation-builders vs the Grave-diggers for the Assyrian nation’.

...call them what you will....assyrians fight each other.

It’s time we all understood that anyone who denies the Assyrians their ancestral right to their historical homeland of the Nineveh Plain or lays claim to this Assyrian land is an invader.

...well, I'm not invading anyone, but I deny the right of Christians to any part of Iraq. What is "ancestral right" anyway? And do you not recognize that in international law, might has always made right? Europeans stole America from its indigenous population...as every other modern nation has been stolen from those who went before. This is normal business therefore to speak of a "right" to have what you claim are ancestral lands means nothing. No, it means less than nothing because it marks you as one who understands very little of how things actually get done in this world...if the Kurds can seize the land and keep it, they follow in the great traditions of every other modern nation. If you could do it, you'd be welcomed among them...but no one recognizes your "right" to such a thing...besides, you will never prove, to a Muslim's satisfaction, that you are the one and only direct descendants of the ancients...never. Oh, they'll smile and pat you on the head at other times..but when it comes to serious things...you need to get serious...and you have no serious basis to make the claim that you, and only you as Christians, are entitled to anything in Iraq...or anywhere else. Just as it is in your day job; you have to EARN things...not claim them by "right".

Collaboration with invaders amounts to high treason and collaborators are grave-diggers for their nation.

...we agree there. That's the reason Christians have been marked for destruction, when the gringos leave. Not all of them, but enough to smear all of them, have acted as collaborators with the invading and occupying enemies of Iraq...they too tried to help dig a grave for Iraq and in fact helped dig many for the people of Iraq...and they will be dealt with as you and I know they deserve.

Throughout history, people who rejected collaboration with invading powers had to flee, even in the face of the hardship this brought on them. Handfuls that stayed put consisted of individuals capable of putting up resistance and retaining their ethnic identity, despite pressure from the invaders.

...exactly

These days, the Assyrians have to save their nation from slave-like humiliation. The relentless march of the nation’s grave-diggers towards subjugation at the hands of the Kurds must be immediately stopped. The choice before the Assyrians is as stark as it is simple: to push these grave-diggers into their prepared pits or forever expire as a nation in charge of its ancestral homeland.

..if you mean some Assyrians must attack and bury other Assyrians...then welcome to the problem. Every ONE of you has his friends and his enemies...and every one of you believs that the OTHER guy must be gotten rid of....hence your suggested solution is already a part of the ongoing problem...all you're doing is sanctifying your point of view while condemning those who see things differently...and you call this a solution? Isn't it just more of the same, more of what you're complaining about? You just prefer the grave you're digging to the one dug for you....is that so startling?

What you all fail to realize..and what in the end reduces all of you to stupidity, no matter how educated or accomplished in other fields..is that when it comes to your "nationalism", your minds get so muddled that you lose nine-tenths of any sense or wisdom you had.

For one thing, no Iraqi will ever accept you Christians as the indigenous people of Iraq..period. Even the United Nations defines "indigenous" as any people living continuously in one place for 400 years. By that definition not even the Americans are indigenous to North America. All the people of Iraq are, by now, indigenous...but it doesn't matter anyway because there's nowhere to make that claim...there's no office that takes in these complaints and then acts on them...there's no court for such things....so even if you had a document that proved your claims, as the Native Americans have several, it would still do you no good....no modern nation can afford to support your claims because they will see similar claims pop up among their own indigenous and disenfranchised populations...it's just the way the world works...get used to it.

To continue basing your hopes on the mistaken notion that you have some urgent claim on the world's conscience is foolish...which brings me to my point; this nationalism business makes people stupid...makes them look foolish...frustrates the hell out of them because no one can afford to act on any of these claims because thousands of similar claims will spring up etc...and it keeps the Christians of Iraq living in fear...until they can escape...as you did. All you're achieving by these nationalist claims is making sure that the remaining Christians of Iraq will be forced to leave...as many of them wish they could now. If they aren't killed first.

These and similar claims plus your willingness to believe every western Christian who you claim "promised to do something" for you...and your joy whenever your Muslim brothers and sisters were killed by foreign Christians and anyone else...has made you unwelcome in Iraq, naturally. You're all for war in that region if you think you can benefit from it...just as your religion teaches you to hunger for the murder of Christ because through it you'll get an incredible benefit...in the one case,a nation...in the other, eternal life.

This is not a good way to get things....you should learn to work for what you want, without opting for a short-cut made possible only through murder. It's a bad habit to get into.
